June Beauty Favourites

Hiya loves, how’s it going? SO I basically had a nightmare a few weeks back and smashed two different phones right before two different press trips, then left my ENTIRE EFFING MAKEUP COLLECTION in the hotel in Benidorm. Luckily I’m not one of those people to throw a tantrum and let silly mistakes like this ruin my day (anymore), so I decided to just forget how much money all these things were gonna cost me to replace and be excited about the excuse to go shopping.

I replaced all of my makeup as well as picking up a few bits of skincare, and some of these buys will definitely be going back in my basket again. Here are the things that I’m glad I had to buy, and what I loved about them.

This month’s beauty faves

Soap & Glory Feel Good Factor Translucent BB Cream, £12

Feel Good Factor Soap & Glory BB Cream

I picked this up in Boots because I was looking for a face cream with a high SPF that wouldn’t clog my pores and make me break out. This has SPF 25, which is probably high enough for the British summer sun, and I’ve been wearing it under my makeup every day. I’ll definitely repurchase this, because I don’t like the usual face protectors. Not 100% sure what BB cream is for or if it’s necessary but I like this particular product.

Boots Botanics Cleansing Toner All Bright, £2.50

Best budget toner
When I had a facial at Seaham Hall this month, the beauty therapist told me I should be using toner to close my pores after cleansing. It turns out that cold water isn’t enough! I dug this toner out of my dressing table and have been using it morning and evening. I haven’t had a single spot and feel like my skin’s condition has improved, which is really saying something after my year-long bout with acne in Dubai. For £2.50, I’m pretty happy with that.

Maybelline New York Push Up Drama Mascara, £7.99

My long eyelashes are the one thing I get complimented on, and I usually use Maybelline’s original Falsies mascara, which has been out for ages. I’m definitely in the every-mascara-is-basically-the-same boat, and don’t think it’s worth splashing out on expensive brands when it comes to my eyelashes. However, I do like Benefit’s Rollerlash and Clinique’s Chubby Lash mascaras. I was shopping with my mum and we saw Maybelline’s new Push Up Drama version of the Falsies stick and I’m converted. It ticks all the boxes: volumising, separating and not so much lengthening that my lashes look like ridiculous, gangly spiders on my face. 10/10 would buy again.

Tony Moly Sheet Masks, £5 each

I was excited to jump on the sheet mask trend but daaaamn, why are they all so expensive? I found these Tony Moly sheet masks online and as well as being reasonable, they make my face feel brand new. I got a pack of 10, all for different skin complaints, so they’ll last me a while.

Revlon Photo Ready Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick, £9.99

Best stick highlighter
It took me a while to figure out how to use highlighter, because the cream versions and the powder types clung to my skin in a very non-flattering fashion. I love this stick because I simply swipe it over the tops of my cheekbones and under my brow bone and blend. I also love the shade.
